Healing Garden

Located in Medford, Oregon, this expansion project is currently in the design process and will result in the doubling of patient beds for the regions largest medical center.

Resulting from the hospital’s expansion will be the replacement of the facility’s current hospital garden. Terrain Landscape Architecture is working with the hospital’s staff, committees and the architectural team in providing the future staff, patients and visitors with new spaces including a therapeutic garden to be located just outside of the front entry and within easy reach to all.

This new garden will provide users with opportunities of respite from the stresses of the hospital environment. Open and secluded sitting areas on the gently sloping hillside will flank a central water feature that will contribute sound and reflection to the garden. Paths will gracefully move through the garden allowing visitors to recharge in a natural setting.
