Cannon Beach

For the owner of this oceanfront property, preserving the simplicity of its historic beach cottage and extending its modest nature into the landscape was paramount. Converting an existing garage into a guest suite fostered a connection between the two buildings for extended family visits.

The palette of this project was selected to capitalize and emphasize its views of the Pacific Ocean and Haystack Rock. Beach grass, lawn, and weathered wood comprise a design that affords more space for living outdoors than the beach-side bungalow that it surrounds, embracing an al fresco lifestyle for weekend getaways.
